Patient Comfort
Not every dental procedure can be 100% painless, but Dr. Ritter and the staff at Advanced General Dentistry employ the most recent methods of dispensing anesthesia and other advances in dentistry to make your visit as comfortable as possible.

Below are just some of the methods we can use to reduce discomfort, and sometimes eliminate it all together!

Pre-medication
When needed, Dr. Ritter selects medication to mildly sedate or calm patients before and during the appointment.   Sometimes this is used to simply help patients sleep the night before an appointment.

Laughing gas
N2O2 or "laughing gas" as it is sometimes called, offers an excellent alternative for many people without high risk and high cost associated with being put to sleep.

Microdentistry
The days of painful scraping and drilling are nearly over.   The latest micropreparation systems allow us to perform most routine dental procedures without the need for shots, the discomfort of numb lips, or the tedious waiting times associated with dentistry in the past.   That's what I call a balance between technology and comfort... and it costs no more than doing it the old way.

Infection control
We are all very concerned about your safety.   Every member of our staff is trained in the most recent infection control technologies.   To list all the new technologies we use for this would take another whole website!

Fiberoptics
Sometimes, the older technology is the only route available.   We have taken effective, older instruments, and made them better.   All of our high speed drills are accurately guided by fiberoptic technology for a lower margin of error, and less discomfort for all.

Audio analgesia
Where there are computers, there are CD players and headsets.   Bring your own music on compact disc, or select one of ours, and use it to transport yourself to a place more relaxing that the dentist's office.

It's one thing to tell a patient to relax but its quite another thing to provide the tools to allow them to do so.
